What Is A Google Business Profile?
We gave you the short definition of a Google Business Profile, or for short, GBP, but in reality, it’s a little more complicated than that. A GBP is a dedicated page that can help your local business show up more often in maps and search engine results. Plus, it’s totally free!
For example, if you were to search for IT Edge, you’ll see a box that pops up on the right hand side of the screen in search, or at the bottom of the screen in maps. That little box, in itself, is the Google Business Profile.
In the GBP you’ll see a variety of information. All this data are things that are valuable to customers, and can help you convert leads into sales. However, before you add a plethora of information to your newly created profile, it’s important to know why this information is valuable.
Why Is the Information in a Google Business Profile Important?
To put it briefly, all of the information in a GBP is everything that a potential customer would need if they wanted to seek out your services. For example, the very top line of the GBP, under the title and photos, is a variety of contact information.
Under the IT Edge page, you’ll see links to our website, directions to our office, an option to save the profile, and a button made to call us. This gives potential customers a direct line of communication to us if they have any questions about our services, hours, or a variety of other information.
The most important piece of information, however, is the reviews section. The reviews section allows other customers to leave their feedback about your company, and recommend it to other potential customers. Accruing reviews is wildly important to managing a successful Google Business Profile, as it is one of the most read features on the GBP.
There is a plethora of other information on a GBP, such as services, hours of operation, photos, questions and answers, and popular times, but all of them fall second to the contact information and reviews.
